Photography+Africa=passion

I took this photo over a year ago at Displace Me, an event where thousands left there home to bring the people of Northern Uganda home, we slept in boxes and only had crackers and water. It was a night that I will never forget. My photography has recently started to grow, with more people asking for photos and me getting the courage to up my prices after being adviced many times to do so. Last night I had a dream I was in Africa, all I know is I was there as a photographer, in my dream I kept trying to catch the beauty of my surrounding which seemed difficult for me because I was in such a beautiful place. Well shortly after waking up this morning I remembered a good friend of mine is on her way to Uganda (I’m pretty sure today) her name is Jessica Fairchild (jessicafairchild.com) and she is an amazing photographer. She has been hired to go over to Northern Uganda and be Invisible Childrens photographer for the next three months, while there she will also be teaching a photography class to some of the kids. Needless to say, thanks to last night and my remembering Jessica this morning, I have been thinking a lot about Africa and photography today.  I would love for nothing more then to go on a missions trip with a church as their photographer. I want to use my talents to glorify God. I’ve already started in some ways, this summer I will be the photographer for a vbs at a local church.  I don’t know, I’m rambling I guess…
